Unable to activate components.

I have a new installation of wordpress and the newest version of the BP plugin. The 6 standard components are active but I can not activate the other components. It allows me to check the box but when I save my changes are not reflected. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

It’s got to be a plugin or thee conflict, have you tried switching to 2017 and only running BP?

I am using the 2017 theme and have the following plugins installed: Akismet, AMP, Buddypress, Jetpack, and Vaultpress.

Akismet is fine, can’t vouch for the others.

I set my site up using wordpress.com and not a self hosted version of wordpress. Could that be my issue?

I used a different service and it is working correctly now.
