Uninstalling – cleaning wp_options table

    @clarer1

I’ve been experimenting with BP on one of my sites but realised it’s overkill for what I really need there. I’m deleting it to clear space and thought I might as well also tidy up properly as at https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/deleting-buddypress/

The last step lists entries to delete from wp_options table. I’ve deleted those listed but there are a few more with bp prefixes:

    _bp_enable_akismet
    _bp_enable_heartbeat_refresh
    _bp_force_buddybar
    _bp_retain_bp_default
    _bp_theme_package_id
    bp_disable_blogforum_comments
    bp_docs_attachment_protection
    bp_restrict_group_creation
    bp-disable-group-avatar-uploads

Are they also Buddypress entries and can I delete them as well? It’s very possible I tried out BP on the same test site a few years ago, so they could be entries left over from an older version.

All very exciting this: I don’t usually dare to do anything under the hood like this, but the instructions are so clear, I thought I’d give it a go! Have backed up!

Nothing wrong with BP BTW! Just that I will probably be better off having a few members’ only pages and posts rather than a forum.

    Thanks.
    Clare

Thanks for the clarity in your question.

Are they also Buddypress entries and can I delete them as well?

Looks okay to me. Should be fine.
But if you aren’t comfy about deleting them, leave them there.
9 rows is no biggee in the options table.
