Update xprofile custom fields on homepage

Dear BuddyPress users and helpers,

I’ve searched for 3 hrs and could not find what I am looking for. Maybe you can help me solving this problem.

For a client of mine I’m looking for a way to let users change their custom profile field named ‘Book Request’ on the home page of the site. I’ve used buddypress/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/members/single/profil to get the edit page to the homepage but then all fields are loaded, the fields are not filled in and nothing get stored after submitting the editions.

I was hoping someone knows how to load one single custom field on the homepage with the options to make some editions to it for the current user.
