Hi Faldekan!
Is it a must that you should use Frontend User Pro for images?
If you have option to use other stuff for images you can use the following – all of these add an icon to the form atop Activity page to click and upload images
buddypress-media by rtcamp
mediapress by brajesh
buddypics by modemlooper
bp activity plus
You need to see which works for you.
However, none of these use WP core media.
If you can use core media of the WP itself, you can use the p2 theme which also has image upload button attached to the sitewide form. To show image thumbs in Gallery posts in the activity stream your users will have to “insert” at-least one picture apart from the Gallery.
Hi,
Thanks for the quick response. Yes, unfortunately I need to use Frontend User Pro as I am including text fields along with the image as a complete post. I tried bp activity plus so I know the types of plugins you mentioned, but they are not what I need. The image and text combo loads fine as a single post, it just doesn’t go across to the activity stream as a whole.
Very frustrating…
You have to ask on the plugin support forum, as post pictures are showed on swa with a default BP install.
I thought this was the plugin support forum? Do you mean the support forum for Frontend User?
Hello! I need do let new users upload images, but can not find answer how to do that. Please help!
@faldekan,
Yes ! Frontend User Pro
@alexanderorlik,
please open your own topic and give details: what you want to do, what you already did or tried and what is not working.
What’s new (notice) editor is intended for short messages to users or site members and comes without publishing tools like the WP editor. The textarea is striped and accept only a few html tags, by default.
Because of basic security rules, file uploading from frontend is also restricted and not recommended to by-pass for that reason.
Other option where already mentionned by @rosyteddy
There is also BuddyDrive, intended for sharing almost any file types.
Ok, thanks, I’ve put a post on the frontend user forum as well, hopefully someone can help me somewhere!
