Use Buddypress ONLY for Account Management

    Hey all,
I need to create a robust account management section for users, but have no need or desire for all the social media features (public profiles, friend requests, messaging, etc, etc).
Is this something I can do with BP easily, without the bloat, or do you recommend I pick up a different WP plugin?

In the WP admin dashboard, go to “Settings > BuddyPress > Components” and uncheck all components except Settings.

IMO, I don’t think you necessarily need BuddyPress for this.

Thanks Ray – So that was my question, do you think it’s overkill, and would you recommend something else instead?

The Settings component allows a user to change their email address and password.

So if that is all you need, there should be a WordPress plugin out there that does something similar on the frontend. Check wordpress.org/plugins. I do not have a recommendation for you.
