Use nonBP registration form

Hello everyone
I’m using BuddyPress 2.3.4. I am wondering if it’s possible to have a completely different registration form handle the registration data. I want to somehow “forward” this data to the native BuddyPress registration workflow. This way, I can have a lot of flexibility I’m not too sure how to approach this–maybe with a POST request? Any tips towards a direction would be appreciated.
To illustrate:
* Native registration:
BP Registration form –> User gets registered in WP/BP
* What I’m looking for:
Own Reg. form –> Do own stuff with data —forward reg form data—> User gets registered in WP/BPThank you in advance
