User Blogs not created in blogs.dir – Path is set to domain name

    Hi,
I’m trying to troubleshoot why Buddypress is unable to create user blogs. It goes through the motions, but what is created is unusable. Instead of creating the blog URL as http://blogname.domain.com/, it creates it as http://blogname.domain.comdomain_com/. Nothing is created in blogs.dir and the blog path is set to domain_name/ .

Blogs.dir is in wp_content with perms 755. Root level blog works fine, it’s only the subdomain blogs that are problematic.

WP 3.0.2, Buddypress ver is 1.2.6

    Thanks,

    Craig

Could this have something to do with domain aliasing being disabled on the server? I’m with Dreamhost and I think they has that feature turned off. In that case, it would never work with subdomains.

@cshrimpt blog creation is in the province of WordPress MS, not BuddyPress. Read through the codex https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/before-installing/#wp-configuration and resolve WordPress issues before installing BuddyPress at https://wordpress.org/support/forum/multisite

Thanks, I read through that and setup multi-site as specified. WordPress is working fine, it’s just the user blog creation that has the issue. Everything else, including the forums is good. I verified that domain aliasing ( *.domain.com ) is not setup in the httpd_conf, so it’s definitely the problem of the hosting.
