    I would like to have a theme for my User-Blogs. It should be the very same design as at testbp.org

    Does anyone have that kind of design-work readily available ?

    Many thanks !

    If you want the theme that is on testbp.org, that’s the included bp-default theme with BuddyPress 1.2.

    Hi JJJ,

    yeah I know, but I would like to have the BP1.2 default-theme at the “USER-BLOGS”.

    like e.g. on this page:

    http://johnjamesjacoby.testbp.org/

    Any theme-designer outta have made this theme already for User-Blogs ?

    My blog doesn’t use the 1.2 default theme. It uses “SpringLoaded” by the449.

    If users want to use another theme in their blog, they simply need to activate a theme that you have provided for them.

    There are MU plugins to provide default blog setups that you can define; things like first post, first comment, and theme are assignable.

    ok, so create a child theme of bp-default theme with your header.php(which is a copy of default theme’s header.php but does not contain the social links rather simply blog pages).

    rest should work fine.

    Many thanks Brajesh !

    But besides the header of the default-theme, which other CSS of the default-theme do I need to copy, in order to have the same style for the User-blogs as at testbp.org ?

    Strange that nobody asked for this before…… ?

    You are most welcome Eric.

    I think to keep the same style, you do not need to copy the css, just create a customs style.css and import the style sheet from bp-default/_inc/css/default.css to your child themes stylesheet, it will allow all the styles of bp-default to be applied to the child theme.

    I will make a BP Default Blog theme very very soon and it will be downloadable from BP-Tricks.com. Keep an eye out Erich, a LOT of very cool stuff coming soon ;-)

    @Bowromir

    That sounds rather useful indeed. Any ETA? :)

    Expect it around the same time BP 1.2 launches. I’m working on a new BP 1.2 child theme which will also be released around the same time :-)

    sounds cool !

    – I clearly do not want to change any CSS at the default-theme. I would like to have my page exactly look the same as at testbp.org .

    – Only want to have the design of the “User-Blogs” being the same look & feel as at the default-theme.

    – so in fact all “User-Blogs” should look the same, but each Blog-Admin should have the possibility to change the top-header-image (e.g. inserting his own Logo as the header-image) at his very own Blog.

    Many thanks for your help Brajesh & Bowe !

    That’s exactly what I had in mind Erich, so luckily we both want the same thing :-)

    I am the lucky one, as you are doing the job

    Hey Brajesh,

    I would like to give the people who run their own Blog at my BP-WPMU-website the possibility of changing the big header-image towards their own custom image ( I mean the big blue 1250 x 125px image at the top).

    Is this possible with your plugin “Wp Unique Article Header Image Plugin” ?

    Many thanks,

    @sbrajesh

    hi Eric

    Yes, It is possible, but Unique header plugin handles it differently, It allows users to change Images on each individual posts page too.

    Do you simply want the users to be able to change the header image for their blog not for individual articles page, if yes, I will look into it and remove some codes, that will make it happen.

    But I think, perhaps the bp-default theme allows that too, not yet tested for individual blogs though.

    Hi Brajesh,

    for my BP-website, I would like to have my own header-image.

    But for the individual User-Blogs, I would give the individual Blog-Admin the option of putting his own header-image into his Blog.

    So I would like to have the default-BP-theme at each individual User-Blogs (so the User-Blog-Admin will not be able to change that theme) and giving the User-Bog-Admin the possibility to upload his own header-image (big image 1250 x 125px.

    Would be great if you could help with code to make this work.

    Thanks a lot !

    hi Eric

    Sorry for not responding earlier. recently, I was a little bit busy with my other work, so could not keep up with the forum.

    Just checking the functionality and going to update my older plugin today. will update you here /or Pm you tomorrow as posting link here may be considered as adv.

    The default theme already allows for custom header images if you;re running it on the member blogs too. Users have to go in the backend tho. unless brajesh was writing a plugin to figure out how to do this on the front side?

    @erich73

    Thanks Brajesh & Andrea !

    yeah, I guess a plugin is not required for letting the users change the big header-image on their own specific User-Blog.

    Not sure about backend and frontend changing of header-image ?

    @Erich73. Indeed you do not need Brajesh’s Unique Article Image plugin to change the header image of bp-default theme.

    However, I got the impression from your earlier post that you wanted to implement a unique article image which members can use in their respective blogs with bp-default theme. I may be wrong, but I assume that was Brajesh’s impression as well, which is why he mentioned something about updating the plugin … to work with bp-default for a unique image per article.

    In any case, it’ll be interesting to have a souped-up Unique Article Image header plugin to work with bp-default.
