Ux: Toast message when joining a group?

How is the standard user experience supposed to be, when a user clicks the ‘join group’ link on a public group?
I just did a test, and the button works, but there is no succes message to the user, and the button ‘join group’ still shows, until you refresh the page.
If this is not some plugin issue at my site, I would suggest improving the ux by adding some toast message to tell the user, that he/she has in fact joined the group..
