v.1.5 b2(4926) activity comment buttons not working also Delete & blog integration.

    First, Many thanks for Buddypress and the countless hours of work.

    Just testing, so when time permits, if anyone has ideas I would be glad to get them.

    2 Issues

    1st Issue – Activity Stream (1.5 b1 & b2)
    2nd Issue Deleting comments/posts & blog integration (1.2.9, 1.5 b1 & b2)

    WP 3.2.1 BP v.1.5.b2 (BP installed on a subsite/subdirectory)

    1st Issue – Activity Stream

    Using 1.2.9

    When Super-Admin is the user, entries relating to posts appear as follows

    user x wrote a new blog post: BLOG POST TITLE 1 week, 1 day ago · View · Delete

    Underneath entries there are buttons – Reply -Favorite- Like

    All of these links and buttons respond as expected

    Using 1.5 b1 or 1.5 b2

    When Super-Admin is the user, entries relating to posts appear as follows
    user x wrote a new blog post:BLOG POST TITLE 1 week, 1 day ago

    Underneath entries there are buttons – Comment -Favorite- Delete

    The Delete button responds as expected.

    The Comment & Favorite buttons do not

    Comment button just reloads page Favorite button goes to Page not found

    Have other users encountered this or is it peculiar to my installation ?

    2nd Issue Deleting comments/posts & blog integration (1.2.9, 1.5 b1 & b2)

    Deleting a comment/post in a blog is not reflected in the activity stream so a link from an entry in the Activity Stream can lead to “This post does not exist” or similar as the corresponding item in the blog has been deleted..

    Vice -versa deleting an entry in the activity stream is not reflected in the corresponding blog.

    Again, Is this the expected behavior or is it just peculiar to my set-up ? (i.e have i made a mess of setting it up or have incompatible plugins etc etc)

    Also Load More button is unresponsive

    This is most likely due to the fact that 1.5 does not register blog posts in the activity stream and those are old database entries linking to something that no longer exists.

    This is how it is meant to work. It’s a good idea for further consideration for a future enhancement; please make such a ticket on https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ :)

    Regarding activity stream comment and favourite buttons not working. I cannot recreate. Can you on testbp.org? Are they broken for *ALL* activity stream items, or just on this “wrote a new blog post” item? Does it still do it if you post on a new blog post’s activity item?

    Thanks to both.
    will do ticket at weekend. There is a kind of similar one at Ticket #2228 (new defect).

    This item on testbp.org works perfectly – so its my set-up . will give it a go over weekend.

    for *ALL* activity stream items – yes

    Also @modemlooper – just did a new post and it has turned up in activity stream so I mustn’t have installed this 1.5 properly.

    On my 1.5 tes install there is no activity post when you post a blog nor is there a filter in the drop down. Either it’s been removed from BuddyPress or this is a glaring omission.

    If non-MS blog posts appeared in the activity stream in 1.2.9, but doesn’t in 1.5, that’s obviously a regression, and please make a ticket if you haven’t already. It’s possible it was inadvertently disabled when we moved a lot of stuff out of the general “core” component into the “blogs” component; the latter of which is only loaded in multisite.

    Got 1.5 (4932) installed properly. Works brilliantly so far. Wrote the ticket as suggested only to latter find that the functionality I thought was lacking (ie blog post/comment deletion triggers activity stream deletion) has been implemented. ???? Could this be so? Feel like I’m wasting people’s valuable time.

    I do not see blog posts or a filter for blog posts on the latest trunk.

    @modemlooper on an install that is multisite there is a filter for posts and for comments. @ Paul Gibbs made the distinction above.

    Would now like to control the category of posts that get posted to the activity stream. Will start a new topic re same later.
