Wanting to create moderators

  • Carlos Ferreira

    Greetings Buddypress Community!

My question is very straightforward, I have a fully set-up Buddypress community now, however I need some users to be able to delete spam posts (these users would be moderators). Although I know WordPress already has a moderator user role, it does not allow them to delete others posts.

I would also not want them to go to the backend of wordpress and to just be simple users who can delete the posts, however if this is not possible I will customise the backend.

If this is not possible, may I know why?

    Thank you for your time.

This sounds more a WP question really, you might be best off installing a roles/capability plugin such as Justin Tadlock’s ‘members’ plugin and creating a new role with extended capabilities in the backend to delete posts but at same time ensuring other capabilities are not checked such as plugin access.

WordPress doesn’t come with a moderator role. This makes me thing you have some other plugins running, which add a role.

Do you really mean WordPress blog Posts? Or do you mean some other type of content?
