[Resolved] Warning: strstr(): Empty needle

    @ethanoltom

    I receive the following warning on my site. Only appears on buddypress pages but not every time.

    Warning: strstr(): Empty needle in /home/wp_xdmyn9/ethanolnetworks.com/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core/bp-core-filters.php on line 641

    I have read the other posts regarding similar issues but did not ever see a resolution. I am not a programmer so any help would need to be fairly specific in more laymans terms preferably.
    My site is http://www.ethanolnetworks.com and I am running:
    WordPress version – 4.2.2
    BuddyPress version – 2.2.3.1

    Thanks,
    Tom

    @danbp

    That issue was solved in BP 2.2.2
    A topic with some explanation can be read here.

    You’re using a theme which latest release was 2013, before WP changed page title handling.
    Suggest you use a more recent one. Try also one of Twenty’s theme to check that the error message is no more there, and that your page title is correctly showing.

    Thanks for directing me to the themes. I tried to change my theme to a more recent one but the problem was still there. Then I went back and read your post again and after looking at your last comment I went to look at the Site Title field in the Theme Appearance customizer and noticed that it was blank. Once I filled in this field the issue went away, even on the older theme that I have been using.

    Thanks again,
    Tom

    Thanks for the update Tom! This was exactly my problem as well. As soon as I included a title the error disappeared!
