[Resolved] Warning: strstr(): Empty needle in

    I am getting a long string in my website’s tab, instead of the page name, that is present on several/all my BuddyPress profile pages, including messages. The string of text is:

    <br /> <b>Warning</b>: strstr(): Empty needle in <b>*****/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core/bp-core-filters.php</b> on line <b>781</b><br />[Page Name Here]

    I did a search using “buddypress” and this part of the code:

    <br /> <b>Warning</b>: strstr(): Empty needle in

    And a ton of WordPress with BuddyPress websites come up with page names that have the same code as the name of a page on their site.

    Any clues as to how I stop this would be appreciated – – thanks!

    WordPress version: 4.2.3
    BuddyPress version: 2.5.8

    Are you using any plugins? Also, which theme are you using?

    I am using the theme Matheson, but I tested it on Twenty Ten with all plugins deactivated except BuddyPress and it still happens.

    I would like to add that I am not using a bp-custom.php file, either. I thought maybe that was the issue, so I checked and didn’t find it.

    Hi @ramuzic,

    read the related ticket for more explanation from here:
    https://buddypress.org/support/topic/warning-strstr-empty-needle/#post-239979

    If the error is still in after changing to one of twenty theme, it’s possible you use a cache plugin containing some old files or your browser history is…very old. Clear it !

    I followed the links above, and yes! Entering my site’s name in Appearance > Customize appears to have worked for me. Thanks!!
