What plugins to I need?

    Hello,

    I am creating a social network for my school’s music department, I was wondering if people could please tell what plugins i need?

    Basically the site will to be able to get help from teachers(pupil->teacher communication), Pupils to talk to each other, groups, forums, upload coursework, receive coursework.

    How could I control users so that each year group could have access to only their year group group/forum etc? Could i use s2Member® Framework or are there any others?

    All you would need is to create private groups and then users could request access. That’s the simplest route. You could also automate it by user role or even by using a profile field

    That sounds the simplest way.

    I take it when i have private groups I/teacher can add members to groups too?

    Make a teacher a group admin then they can approve users.
