Where Are Some Sites Using BuddyPress?

Hi all,

I’m new to WordPress (hosted at WordPress.com) and am interested in learning about BuddyPress. It seemed the place to start would be to join a site using BuddyPress and explore the software as a user. Can anyone suggest a site? Is there a list of BuddyPress sites somewhere perhaps? Ideally I’m looking for activism oriented sites, but any site will do for the purpose of advancing my understanding of the software.
