I think its something to do with redesigning the site but I am not certain. The best thing to do until it is resolved is search google and it will take you to the plugin you need. Have a great day!
@schwarzaufweiss plugins which are supposed to be compatible with BuddyPress are tagged as such in the WP Plugin Repository https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search.php?q=buddypress

Nothing’s changed. BP bbPress and all other WP plugins have always been hosted at the WordPress.org plugin repository. BP.org with special script “gets” the plugins tagged with BuddyPress for https://buddypress.org/extend/plugins/
I raised a trac ticket for the issue this morning and JJJ/Automattic are aware.
Still “Viewing plugin 1 to 1 (1 total plugins)” – in a WP backend with keyword “buddypress” 442 …
