Why no good buddypress WP Themes?

    Is it me or is there no good free or paid buddypress themes? They look awful! Maybe someone can lead me in the right direction? I tried the default but that is no good and tried one called Custom Community (free) which has been the best I came across. Help me please…I know I can join this one site for something like $35 a month but that is crazy…I would pay $35 for just a theme but not monthly…All the themes are boring.

    Thanks

    Thanks for the input…I have a premium wp theme that I even try to use with bb but no dice…looks awful…I have search everywhere – so any other ideas would be much appreciated…thanks for the input above!

    If you used the template pack plugin and BP looks “awful” with your WP theme it’s because the template pack is missing most of the CSS styling. It’s a bare bones to get BP to work inside WP themes. Your statement that there are no good BP themes is flawed in that any WP theme can be used with a little adjustment to the HTML and CSS.

    Another reason there not that many BP themes that are different is because all BP themes are child themes and severly retards enabling custom themes but that is another discussion.

    do we need special license to sell buddypress themes or can everyone sell theme s?

    Anyone can sell BuddyPress or WordPress themes. License must be GPL.

    @ modemlooper – Thanks….do you know of any tutorials on how to style the theme after bb install….I have been unable to find one? The BB Themes are still terrible.

    @ Mercime: From what I recall its not necessary for it to be GPL, but okay.

    @xevo :-)
    It doesn’t have to be GPL if theme’s not *distributed* like e.g. custom theme for a client site. But if theme’s going to be sold or distributed in the wilds for free, it has to GPL.
    Remember that thingamagig with the Thesis theme?
