    Does anyone know how to add a wire post box using a buddypress built in function? If not I guess I’ll just do a sql query and update the db manually…

    I want to add it to a separate page that is not part of the buddypress piece. Basically a static page with a post box. I thought i may be able to use some kind of buddypress function to call the post box instead of accessing the DB directly with my own code.

    The post box is just a HTML form. Without looking I suppose it’s remotely possibly you might be able to call the add wire message function via AJAX or XMLRPC methods, but in your situation it’s almost certainly going to be easier writing your own DB call.
