WP3 vs WPMU? which one is better for BuddyPress?

Hello,

I have tons of experience developing themes for wordpress… and Im very interested in creating a social networking site with wordpress and buddypress!
My question is which version of WP is better to run Buddypress?

If you want to run a network(s) of sites, enable multisite, otherwise don’t. Easy as that.
