wpmu dev – GPL?

  • @whitneygreer

A few of my members on my blog have asked if I could release the wpmu dev plugins I use. Now I’m all for open source though I’m scared that if I do so, they will have legal recourse against me. I have read their terms and conditions, though reading the gpl lisence seems to conflict with their t&c..

From what I can tell from the gpl is I can even resell their plugins given I comply with the terms of gpl.

Its all hazy and I would love if some one could help clear this up.

    Thanks, whitney

normally they can’t do anything about it, if you release it
but it wouldn’t be fair since they invest lot’s of time developing those plugins.

they can add their own licence only on custom JS ,CSS and Layout(design, images etc). All of the php is GPL.

As @uloga said, it’s well within your legal rights (expect for custom js, css, and images if they have a separate license). However, just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.
