  • @nig3d

Is it normal that WPMU code takes several seconds to generate pages even installed locally?

locally mean random… we have not a single bit of idea how your server is set, so the answer will be “we have no idea”…

    give some details, please: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/when-asking-for-support

Are you loading it up while your internet is disconnected? It does several call outs.

Also, this is a WPMU question and shoudl be over in their forums. (where I’d give the same answer, heh. :D )

That’s true Andrea, it’s just right now I joined only this community.

Anyway, it’s window XP with a XAMPP standard configuration and internet connection active. WPMU latest stable release installed on subdomain.

Anyway according your reaction it sounds like it’s not normal, but my configuration is just standard and with a fresh installation.

Anyway I think I will join the WPMU community now, because I’m having some troubles even before to install buddypress.

Have you tried turning your internet connection off completely?

I had this issue as a result of the anti-virus and firewall I was running at the time. Turned off the firewall and anti-virus, and all was well. I’m sure there’s a better solution, but that did it for me.

Could be that your pc is just slow?

What hardware do you use? (processor, ram, etc)

I’m running it with an i7 and 6gb of ram it works great.

Xevo I don’t think so, my PC is not as quick as lighting, it’s an old inspiron 9300, with 2 giga of ram, it does its work with most of the moder software, I can’t see why WPMU should slow there. 6GB of ram for one user looks expensive :))

Depends on what you call expensive, either way, just read that you use xampp and not wamp, not sure if xampp would give the same results on my local.

(Planning on putting 12gb in my pc soon. :)
