What is the need of such an URL ?

The part part /comment-page-*/ specific to BP, favorates duplication in search engines IMO

WP habitually use this kind of url
/domain.com/post-slug/#comment-*

On SWA, the URI comes with the unique ancored #post-*,
So, why use

http://bp-fr.net/2011/07/mise-a-jour-majeure-avec-bp-1-2-9-wp-3-2/comment-page-1/

which is exactly the same as:

http://bp-fr.net/2011/07/mise-a-jour-majeure-avec-bp-1-2-9-wp-3-2/

@Chouf1 It’s WP generated URL for when you set comments to show no more than x number of comments per page e.g. http://pross.org.uk/plugins/theme-check/comment-page-1/#comment-2834

Thank you @mercime , your answer is more to “how it works”, and not “why does it work like this”. Because search engines register both uri, and this is not really good for SEO in my mind.
Probably better i ask on the WP forum.

Other answers are anyway welcome here.
