Yep definitely cool which is why people have written plugins to do this I guess 
, I’m currently in the process of a major update of mine ‘bp-user-profile-map’ to include options for rendering maps in group member loops and member dir loops as well as other config options for display plus function calls and shortcodes, hoping to complete some time early next week. but check the plugins section here for the available plugins.
