I am also looking for an avatar chooser for my new members. So that they will at least have avatars corresponding to their gender.

What Andrew Scott did with the Doppelme looks like an overkill for me.
But how does it actually work?
When they select the doppelme avatar, it automatically becomes the user’s buddypress profile avatar?
Maybe a default library of 10 images to choose from will be already a great addition
