BuddyPress.org

We installed the buddypress plugin and we’re trying to activate the features but they aren’t working.

We have an existing WordPress site that can be found here: http://www.allafrikawire.com and we wanted to add a social networking component. The page created for it can be found at: http://www.allafrikawire.com/members/

How do I activate the buddypress features on the members page? Is it possible to get buddypress working with an existing WordPress site/theme or do we have to create a separate theme and page specifically for Buddypress?
