Changing group / member links from activity streams to forum / profile

  • Currently when someone clicks on a group name, they are directed to the group’s activity stream. Likewise, when they click on a member name, they are taken to that member’s activity stream. There doesn’t appear to be an easy way to alter this behavior so that, for instance, they would simply be taken to a group’s forum or a member’s profile instead.

While I can appreciate the usefulness of activity streams, I can’t expect everyone who uses our site to. To the layman, they will appear to be a disorganized list of post snippets and conversations which lack context; it’ll be just some weird page they have to load before they can finally click the ‘forum’ link or get to a member’s profile. I understand that activity streams can be disabled site-wide, but that isn’t an option for us due to installed plugins that require them to be enabled.

Is there something that lets us control where group and member links take the user? Or to put it another way, can the ‘Home’ tabs be changed to point elsewhere? I would love for someone to make a plugin for this (or point me to an existing one). Thanks.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I also want the default page for members to be the profile instead of activity.

I found a way to make the default page for members to be the profile page.

    and
