Is buddypress 1.7 going to have share icon to replace bp share it?
No it won’t, ‘Sharing’ is really something handled by third party plugins.
Maybe you can explore the possibilities of taking over the plugin, or maybe employing a developer to look into getting it updated ?
No need to update or replace, you can get it here. http://shop.taptappress.com/downloads/buddyshare
@modemlooper I went to the link to purchase but I don’t see it. I only see buddysuite & buddymobile pro. Please sir, I really need to purchase this asap. Thank you
sorry, moved it to github
@modemlooper THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!
How do I donate? <–Serious Inquiry… do you have paypal?
@modemlooper Thanks so much for the link.
I’m having a slight issue with what I downloaded. Might be that I do not have something configured right. I did a default install without changing any coding. I get this result.
I also tested this by changing the folder name to match what is in the code and though the pictures on the Admin Plugin shows now, when I go to the activity page only the Share button Shows but when clicked nothing happens.
Any suggestions on what to do?
….just realized that you can’t see the issue in the link above.
Here are some screen shots of what I was talking about.
Default Right out the Box – no codes changed… Admin Panel no pics show, but this is what shows in the activity field without hitting the “share button”
This is how it looks when I changed the directory folder to buddypress-share-it to match the coding.
Hope this explains my issue for some resolution. Thanks so much and I apologize if this is not the the right forum to place this issue.
I tried to create a new topic on this, but it’s not working either when i hit the submit button.
Am I blocked from posting anywhere but this one post? I tried to post in my own activity and Nothing Happened.
@modemlooper, is there another way to contact you other than this post to help resolve this issue please.
plugin might have broke on 1.7 I haven’t had time to update it.
Thanks for the update @modemlooper.
Wishing for a Expedient Update soon. My Launch is Tuesday and this is a key factor when folks start sharing their information on the site. I will be cyberstalking github… hahahaha
A tiny bit confused here.
Using Buddyshare 1.2.1 (in the plugin panel it calls itself “BuddyPress Share It” and the Author is @modemlooper) on a test site
Set up:- WP v. 3.5.1 multisite, BP v. 1.7, Bbpress v. 2.3, Other Plugins: a lot; Theme: Child of BP Default.
As far as i can tell, on this set-up, this (superb) Buddyshare plugin is working as expected.
Is there something i’m missing?
I presume that you have set the plugin up in the BuddyPress—>Sharing panel on the left hand side of your dashboard screen ????
(if multisite -network – dashboard)
I really apologize for being persistent with the same old issue, but I still don’t have it resolved yet.
I can’t get these links to lineup Horizontally. If I can get it to lineup Horizontally, I would get rid of the actual share button and just used it like that since the links work perfectly.
Any help from the guru’s would be appreciated greatly.
@dreamdimples I now have encountered (on an iPad Safari – all icons intact but vertically aligned) as you have encountered or similar to what you are encountering.
So there was indeed something that i was missing!! Sorry!
but still all normal on a Mac (OS 10.7.5) with latest editions of Safari, Chrome and FireFox on a Mac.
Would be interested to know your OS etc.
Oooooweeee…. I’m getting closer to the finish line
Got the Share Group Button to Finally work in the Group Page.
Got the Share button to Finally work in the Forum Page.
Cannot get the Share Button to work in Activity Page….yet
I sooooo love and need this script to work…. I will NOT give up
@valuser, I’m using Windows with Firefox and Internet Explorer.
Please oh Please Share your knowledge and the fix. Like @modemlooper has shared plugins and countless forum replies
I think the fix was they didn’t do the admin settings, as you suggested and now the only issue is some css in IE
