Name problems at registration

I have a peculiar problem: I signed up a test user and named it something. Oddly enough, the name wasn’t saved. Oh well, I thought, and entered it by editing my profile.

Then I signed up another user. This time the name showed up! Only it wasn’t the name I had in mind for that user – it was the name I had entered for the previous user, where the name hadn’t been saved!

Strange, I thought, and tried again. Only to see the same thing happen again. When I register, I get the name of the previous registrant, and the name I enter is saved for the next person who registers.

It keeps happening when I register some more.

Any ideas?

* BuddyPress 1.0.1

* Twitter for WordPress 1.9.4

* Community Blogs 0.42

* WordPress.com Stats 1.4

This is a known issue with 1.0.1. It relates to the switch from sessions to cookies in the bp core. I do believe it’s fixed in trunk.

I see. I was just about to add that the previous registrant’s name is only used if I register again using the same browser; when I register in another browser (without the associated cookies) I simply get an empty field.

Is there any ETA on 1.0.2, then?

Yep plrk that is the exact issue. ETA is ‘soon’.
