Disbable all comments in activity stream

    Since I cannot moderate activity stream comments, I’m wondering if I can disable the comments option under the activity that shows up in the stream. I already have the comments disabled for groups/blogs, but users can still comment in the stream. I’d like to remove it.

     

    Any ideas? thanks.

    @discdemo, if you are using child theme or buddypress default theme you can simply use css to hide it.

    something like: .activity-list div.activity-meta a.acomment-reply {display:none;}

    As an alternative to @naijaping’s CSS solution I have been toying with the idea of using a blank post-form.php and removing the comments link from activity entries. But, I hate the idea of that approach as the post-form.php template will be still be called each time. There must be a cleaner solution?

    Wouldn’t it be easier to just remove the comment form from
    theme/activity/entry.php ?

    Got it! a much cleaner solution. This goes in functions.php:

    add_filter(‘bp_activity_can_comment’,’__return_false’);
