No notifications for replies

BuddyPress does not send any notifications when a status is commented or a comment is replied to.

No email notifications are sent and no new notifications are shown when logged in.

Notifications do work when @mentioned.

I’m using BP 2.4.3 and WP 4.4

I have tried vanilla WP, BP and Twentyfifteen. What am I missing?

I don’t think there is a core functionality to accomplish this. I’ve been using this plugin to serve up those notifications with good results:

That is wierd. It says here that this is core functionaliity: buddypress.org/about/notifications/
By default, notifications are created as soon as one of the following things happen:
- A member mentions you in an update @username”
- A member replies to an update or comment you’ve posted
- …

This should be working. Have you installed any plugins that may be conflicting?

Make sure you have the setting checked under members/{username}/settings/notifications/

Yes @henrywright, the settings are correct.

Steps to repeoduce:
1. Install vanilla WordPress 4.4
2. Install vanilla BuddyPress 2.4.3
3. Use default theme
4. Post a status update
5. Create a new user
6. Log in as new user
7. Comment on status
Just to be clear, I’m talking about notifications in WordPress toolbar. Have not checked if email notifications work since I’m on localhost.
