Registration completed by “registree” – not showing up as registered

I am using the BuddyPress default theme. Site is brand new. Had someone register on the site. She completed registration and received the notice that an email would follow. However, I see no evidence of her registration, (She has not received the email follow-up). Help is appreciated.

Thank you. I will follow these instructions regarding the recommended plug-ins. Not using bluehost,
but perhaps this is also happening with my web host. It also seems to recommend contacting the host
