BuddyPress.org

I know this has been covered before, as I have asked it mself.

I am looking for a way to allow users to have thier own “blog” or journal on thier profiles, preferably with some sort of catagory system but thats not entirely neccercery, I know i could use multisite and allow each user to have thier own full blog, but that is not my intention as I just want a buddypress install with groups (as i have a need for them with blogs seperate from user blogs) and allow for each user to edit thier own area from inside thier profile. Is there a plugin that could achieve this?

For clarifcation, I want something like what sites like Myspace, Bebo had (or had as i havn’t used either in quite some time) or even Facebooks Notes.
