Since upgrading to 1.6 after release, users are suddenly allowed to register with spaces in their usernames. The system is converting the spaces to a hyphen… which the user doesn’t realize… so they then send in lost password requests or create another screen name.

I can’t find anywhere in the settings to disable this, and it’s become a real customer service problem for my site.

We’re running all the latest versions of WP and BP with site-wide forums no groups, plugins are: JetPack, BP Album, Ad Rotate, WangGuard, BuddyPress Mobile, Custom Login Lite, Duplicate Post, and Social Author Bio. The host is HostGator.
