Good idea, I haven’t seen a plugin that does this.
hello,
i would try to mix a part of the post-avatar plugin and a bit of code as explained here:
http://hungred.com/how-to/customize-wordpress-avatar-filter-hook/
or perhaps tweaking this plugin:
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-avatars-for-comments/
Hi,
you have a big chance: i spoked to iMath, and he did it !
A nightly built fresh baked plugin to alllow you to have navatar suggestions list !
From now on the WP plugin repository
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-avatar-suggestions/
Have fun !
PS: @djpaul, idea becames reality
Bravo @chouf1 ! And many thanks to @imath for creating the plugin
Great. thank you so much!
I’m installing it now ๐
Here a feedback:
* I installed it successfully.
* To upload an avatar-suggestion, there are a few steps nessasary (click Add avatar, click medialibrary, select image, click “insert into post”, select “save settings”). I tried to add multiple images add once, but it fails (after clicking “save settings”, it only applies the last selected image).
@imath Is there an easy way to add 60 avatar-suggestions?
You wanted to add 20 images 5 days ago. And now 60 ! ๐ Fortunately, WP 3.4.1 allows batch upload to his media library, and the plugin also.
But to use it you have to select the batch option on the avatar upload page. Click the link in the text above the upload box “use the new upload tool” or something like this (my WP is in french sorry) You can do the same from within the media library upload if you want (batch url is your-site/wp-admin/media-new.php#)
On click a drag’n’drop zone appears.รย Now you can batch upload ! The rest of the process is unchanged, especially you will have to asign each image one by one to the plugin by clicking on “insert into post” and to save this for each.
yeah, your right; the “20” were inaccurate, sorry ๐
Of course, i know the batch-upload to media library (i already had done this before).
you will have to asign each image one by one to the plugin by clicking on โinsert into postโ and to save this for each.
Thanks for clearify this.
Open medialibrary-tab (loading…), browse to next image (paging…loading), collapse, insert into post (loading…), save settings (loading…) seems to be a little uncomfortable, when doing it 60 times ๐
Maybe my host isnt the fastes one.
But, of course, I’m very grateful to have this plugin …. thank you very much!
