I am a novice in this. I do not have any programming knowledge. I am used to using WYSIWYG software to design my sites.

I came across Buddypress and I see it as a tool I can use. However, I realise thatI am having a few problem setting up my social Networking site.

1. Many plugins that I install return some errors, I have to uninstall

2. There is no restriction to what a visitor can view when they visit my site. They can easily get to every part of the site without restrictions. I tried to install Secure invite plugin based on its feature and shown on the plugin page but it returned error. I have uninstall it.

3. I desire to put a sign up page or button somewhere. I do not know how to go about it.

Please, can someone give some advice on the easiest way to overcome these challenges. I will appreciate you kind responses.

1. Before installing any plugin – BP or WP – double-check the compatibility of the plugin with the version of BP/WP you have installed. If the compatibility is not there and you choose to install the plugin, be prepared for errors and to tackle it. In other words, the safe bet for a novice is not to install plugins which are not compatible with your installation.

2. One way is via https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/s2member/ I recommend reading through the documentation http://www.primothemes.com/post/product/s2member-membership-plugin-with-paypal/

3. Something like this – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/theme-my-login/ and redirect visitors who are not logged in to the login page
