Your welcome. Thank you for telling us.
In reply to: Buddypress user file sharinghave you tried any of the ideas in https://buddypress.org/support/topic/how-do-i-make-buddypress-1-6-a-private-community/ ?
You should never edit the core bp files!
Have you checked that, if necessary, all your plugins are updated to be compatible with bp 1.7
According to buddypress.org/support/topic/buddypress-1-7-is-now-available-2/page/2/#post-161513 a similar error message was caused by an un-updated plugin: https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-followers/ ?
In reply to: [Resolved] Registration Page text color issueAs it’s a totally different question, I suggest you start a new topic with a different title.
I don’t know much about the bbpress stuff as I am still using legacy formums.
If you are going to resurect such an ancient page I would like to note that the upgrades to buddypress.org have messed up the code in my original post:

Still works for me with bp v 1.7 using ‘legacy forums’.
In reply to: Login and Register LinkI’m not clear about the problem. Are you referring to links on the WP admin bar which doesn’t appear on your page?
Have you tried changing to another theme to see if that fixes it? Twentytwelve is supposed to work properly with the new buddypress v 1.7 … If it does then you need to talk to the people that made the commercial theme.
Sometimes plugins or code in bp-custom.php can interfere with things…
He is saying to put it in a bp-custom.php file.
Don’t include the pre and code beginning and ending tags as they shouldn’t be there…
In reply to: Login and Register LinkYou need to log-out of wordpress completely to see those pages…
In reply to: Double buddypress boxes on pageI seem to remember it mentioned on another topic here that problems like this may be due to themes not being upgraded ( or upgraded incorrectly ) to be compatible with bp 1.7?
In reply to: [Resolved] Registration Page text color issueTry looking with the developer tools in Chrome, Safari or Internet Explorer, or use Firebug with Firefox, or Opera’s Dragonfly…
What theme are you using and is it a ‘child’ theme? Do you have a public URL?
In reply to: Top of homepage cut off since buddypres upgradeThat should have been `margin-top:-28px;` i accidentally transposed the : and ;
In reply to: Top of homepage cut off since buddypres upgradeHave you upgraded your theme to the latest version: http://www.buddyboss.com/buddyboss-theme-updated-to-2-1-7-compatible-with-buddypress-1-7/ ?
Looking at it with internet explorer developer tools I can see that the ‘default.css’ is adding a `margin-top;-28px:` to the `body` which is causing the cut-off.
Try using the developer tools in Chrome, Safari or Internet Explorer, or use Firebug with Firefox, or Opera’s Dragonfly to see for yourself and test any edits if the theme upgrade hasn’t fixed it.
While I agree with Hugo that it would be better to upgrade to the WP Adminbar from the legacy buddybar, and I don’t need the functions myself, I did a bit of googling and came up with the very ancient: https://buddypress.org/support/topic/search-function-in-admin-bar/
The function there no longer seemed to work with plugins_loaded but did work with bp_init when I tried it…
`function modify_adminbar(){
remove_action( ‘bp_adminbar_menus’, ‘bp_adminbar_random_menu’, 100 );
remove_action( ‘bp_adminbar_logo’, ‘bp_adminbar_logo’ );
}
add_action(‘bp_init’,’modify_adminbar’,99);`Does that work for you?
https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/theme-development/modifying-the-buddypress-admin-bar/ was also useful….
In reply to: [Resolved] Buddybar: Background Color OverlapIt took me ages. I could see the css that was causing the issue, but not how it got there…
In reply to: [Resolved] Buddybar: Background Color OverlapI had a similar problem when I upgraded yesterday.
Does this in your functions.php or bp-custom.php help?
`add_action(‘get_header’, ‘my_filter_head’);
function my_filter_head() {
remove_action(‘wp_head’, ‘_admin_bar_bump_cb’);
}`see: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/31-update-causing-28px-top-spacing-in-html-body#post-2405350
Why it wasn’t a problem before is another question….
In reply to: How to change BP pages permalinks?Using IE developer tools I can see that line 1720 of bp’s default.css uses a filter that starts as white ( #ffffff ). If this line is turned off then the white text of the add to cart button can be seen.
It can also be seen that Woocommerce colours this text white though I can’t tell you the line it’s on.
Using Firebug with firefox it seems that woocommerce colours the button background with it’s own ‘mozilla’ only gradient which seems missing from the ie version
This should be fixable by adding to the child theme style sheet
Try using Firebug with Firefox, or use the developer tools in Chrome, Safari and IE, or Opera Dragonfly to see for yourself.
In reply to: Reduce white space above page titleIt might be cool for you but what I am suggesting is using a beginners’ technique for anyone trying to customise any webpage, not just wp or bp.
In reply to: Reduce white space above page titleYou use the developer tools to examine your webpage and make real time alterations to the code to test fixes.
What theme and bp version are you using and what is your main web browser?
