@r-a-y
hey! thanksI get it. I can just use `messages_new_message()`
i want to use the messages as a place holder for some more info related to user. I want that the user can access his previous info from his inbox.. (just the contents is what i want to store)
its hard to explain but pretty simple. can you just help me on what value should I store in thread id so that it doesn’t conflict with anything?
your thoughts on the subject?
@RogerCoathup
Agree with you on the fact that APIs need to be called for forum activity to show up in stream. Other than that everything else is simple and I would consider that myself.
An easy solution is to create a general group for site wide forums or use a (paid) plugin in beta by Brajesh.I guess I need to create an instance of a class, fill up the data and call send member function. right?
what should I store in thread id? I mean are there any special values for it or using a plain 0 or any negative number will do?Why not just use a standalone installation of bbPress with a matching theme? bbPress is also coming up as a plugin for WordPress but not anytime soon. So I would suggest you to use bbPress 0.9 and theme it to match with your site
By bbPress 0.9 you get better performance, more plugins working and you can anytime upgrade it to later version 1.0+ or the upcoming bbPress WP-plugin.Congrats!
either create a matching theme or use deep integration
just a warning for later on headaches
My point was what if BuddyPress supports this at a later date which in my opinion it will. He should have scope for importing that in the BuddyPress then. no?
You can certainly have a standalone install of bbPress along with BuddyPress and then integrate it with the site to give user table sharing and login sync.
But I would suggest to check how BuddyPress is going to handle this issue at a later date so that if you want to import it back to single system then you can because BuddyPress might support it then.
Hiding the button to create group till any solution is fine but if its possible just by a plugin, I mean the core provides the necessary hook then I am ready to code this thing but I definitely need some guidance here.
Any updates on this one?
+1 for the feature
core or a plugin, I would <3 to see it
If its the only change, its better to do it in the default css only and again do it at every upgrade. It would be better in terms of performance but if you are using lots of CSS stylers then better go for a child theme
Thanks for the plugin!
Working! Thanks
I think I said something too #
When I added those,I did get a notice of saving them but the fields were empty at that point. I thought you might have saved it in database and is not showing the current value in fields.
Let me fill those again.
I saved them again and I again got the notice but I think its not saving them at all.
I am using WPMU and you are using WP, if that makes any difference to your code
Yes, its not even added to the menu. I can only see the 2 default ones over there
It doesn’t appear for me. any ideas?
where the user can add their twitter accounts?
