We have stopped support via via the Buddypress site until the new version is released. The new version is likely to have addressed this specific issue that some folks are having. A new version will be coming out very soon and there will be much better options for those needing support. Stay tuned…

Sorry guys, I’m waiting on @blackphantom to finish a scheduled update before I begin actively looking at new issues here… most of these issues have been addressed either here or on buddystream.net (not necessarily resolved though). In addition, there is a new service that he is working on to provide more premium and specific help for…[Read more]

As most of you know, Peter is the brains behind the Buddystream plugin, I’m just volunteering to help him keep momentum and the plugin development focused. It is indeed a tough sell to get anyone to pay for a plugin in an “open-source” immersed project like WordPress. Peter ( @blackphantom) is considering some ways in which […]

Buddystream is a popular plugin that would probably be a heck of a lot more popular if there weren’t so many bugs. It needs active developer follow-up and much more frequent updates, but we can’t fault @blackphantom or anyone else when they are doing this for free. On the contrary: thank you guys for getting it […]

In the last few hours, I received emails from Twitter that my O Auth tokens have been suspended from interacting with the Twitter API for all three twitter applications that I use: Buddystream @blackphantom Buddyvents @traveljunkie and WP to Twitter (wordpress plugin downloaded over 370,000 times) Has this been happening anyone else? Did twitter…[Read more]

No some other people have experienced a “white screen” on import, but it’s rare… I’m going to have to refer this threat to @blackphantom to see if he times to look at it. We are looking at another maintenance release in the next 14 days or so, but I don’t think it will address this issue […]

@pisanojm @blackphantom with Buddystream, is there a way to associate a blog feed / rss feed to a profile, in addition to the social feeds Buddypress associates with a profile. Or would this be something you guys would consider adding. It would be quite useful. Please let me know. Your good response is greatly appreciated.

This integration is not on the “radar” so to speak. I am currently using this plugin to accomplish this:
https://buddypress.org/community/groups/third-party-components-plugins/forum/topic/new-pluginexternal-member-blogsIf you would like this integrated into BuddyStream it can be done and we do accept small contracts for iitems developed.
-
@Pisanojm – Thanks so much for your good response. I’m going to look into the suggested plugin a bit more. It would be cool to see all of these feed style features in one plugin. And I may have some other contract ideas for you guys.

@blackphantom Hi Peter
I’m just working on buddystream latest version and can send out to Facebook and twitter ok, but can’t import from facebook, twitter or flickr, or YouTube.
I read alot of the forum threads and was wondering if the issue has been resolved?
Kind Regards

@blackphantom Hi, my public Facebook updates won’t import either (by default, my updates are only sent to my friends, but when I posted my test updates I used the lock icon under the status box to switch to “everyone” – assuming that should make them public?). I’m able to post to Facebook and Twitter from BuddyPress. […]

OK @blackphantom, some findings after some more hours of investigation: – for MS installations under some circumstances mrsangeld’s workaround is required to get import functionality working – we still have these import files left in server root And another thing: – from Facebook it imports _any entries from my wall. Meaning, not only items I posted […]

@blackphantom Hey Peter – you won’t have to do anything with the data with respect to the core functionality of BuddyStream but just having the data available will open a whole new avenue for those wanting to take the project further. For example, those looking to do real time reports in the field will now also have the option to include location…[Read more]

@blackphantom Peter – thanks for all your work on buddystream. I was wondering if you could tell me if it would be possible to import, if available, any GPS data associated with Tweets? I know this information is in the Twitter RSS feed if it is available. I looked at some of the code in classes/twitter and it seems simply importing this…[Read more]

@blackphantom and I have worked for hours collaboratively debugging the next release (buddystream) over the past two days. This release should have a huge amount of bugs fixed for you and be much, much more stable. Expect the release in the next day or two (it will be version 1.02.3) Regards.
