@pcwriter: Thanks Patrick! Glad the screenshots sold the deal for you, I hope to not disappoint you, there’s a bunch of other stuff which hasn’t even been showed yet!
@skolbloggense: I’ll install CoureWare on my local install and see how it looks and behaves.. If it’s coded with the default theme in mind, it should behave pretty well.. If it contains LOTS of custom css and templates, it might mean that I’ll look into on a later date.. Depending on the work involved that might mean a special version of the theme to be released with custom templates, and to keep the code clean for people who are not using CourseWare. I need to study the amount of work involved to see if it can be a free download, or that it comes with a small price (like the MultiSite and s2member version). It is a good suggestion, and since Courseware is an important plugin for a lot of education based communities, it is something that will be right on top of to-do-list

I’ll report back to let you know how it behaves! Thank you for your pre-order

haha thanks @linusf that’s the biggest compliment I can get. I’m currently working very hard sorting all the little styling issues and setting up the support section+documentation. Then I need to create huge amount of Achievements for people to earn for submitting tricks, and then it’s ready for launch! I have quite a few small tricks, and hopefully others will be submitting their tricks soon.
Thanks for your interest and you can view some screenshots of the BP-Slick admin theme options here: http://bp-tricks.com/buddypress-slick-screenshots/.

That’s it.. I just tested it on my site, and works perfectly

haha that’s the spirit
awesome
@hnla sure you did.. sure.. whatever.. *looks mad at awesome macbook pro monitor*
Your intentions where absolutely clear to me, and I’m glad you also like it
I would love to see some cool Tricks from you when the site launches, so I’ll probably stalk you until you do!@nahummadrid: awesome! Thanks for the compliment and if you have something to show design wise, please do

“Spam!!!”
*sees the topic is about his own theme*
“Absolutely NO problem with this!”
Thanks for creating this topic Ross, I’m really glad you like the theme I’m putting up for sale. And Boone thanks for promoting my already outdated video as well
My intention with the new BP-Tricks site is not to only sell a premium theme, and offer some kind of subscription service (I’m not a big fan of subscription models for Themes).BP-Tricks will hopefully become a resource for great BuddyPress tips and tricks. Selling the theme is just a great way for me to keep BP-Tricks running, earn some money and hopefully improve the quality of BuddyPress Child Themes.. The theme is GPL and cool stuff that I add to it will all be shared in the form of Tutorials on BP-Tricks. The actual design elements and the support are what people are paying for (similar as WooThemes does this for example).
Everyone can submit code/design/inspirational Tricks through a form or the backend, and by doing so you’ll earn Awards (@DJPaul his Achievement Plugin FTW!) and badges awarded by me. The best new trick each month earns a nice price (currently a Free theme, but I’ll try to get some sponsors) and they get listed on the frontpage in Widget of Fame

Besides that the Activity Stream is purely meant to be a source of information displaying ONLY new Tricks, external Tricks (BP-Links from @MrMaz) and external member blogs from our members (if you blog about BuddyPress or anything related to it) you can add your RSS feed to your profile and people who follow you get your updates in their stream. This plugin will be released to the community when the site launches next week.
There’s also a customized search feature which only searches the BuddyPress network (BP.org, BP-Tricks, WPMU.org, Etivite.com, BuddyDev.com, ShabuShabu.eu etc) and a bunch of other stuff which I probably forgot to tell.
All the site features remain free, and also the site will be Ad free for as long as I earn enough to keep it running without loosing money on it.
I hope this makes my intentions clear, and that it will become a place where you can enjoy great BP Tricks from not only me, but from anyone, without getting the feeling that I’m out for someone’s money.. because that is certainly not my intention
If you want to have access to the site before launch to look around and submit some Tricks for the community just let me know, and I’ll make sure you’ll have access and be a part of the cool kids
In reply to: Add external RSS feed instead of creating new blog@igtruex There will be a plugin released on bp-tricks.com early next week that allows you to do just this.. Check BP-Tricks.com early next week to download it..
In reply to: Update User Activitys Stream by RSS FeedYes Amahesh.. This plugin will be released in about a week on http://www.bp-tricks.com
It allows the user to fill in his RSS feed and the stream will show his/her latest posts in the activity stream
Sounds like a great idea Dwenaus.. Would love to see something like this
A while back I asked MrMaz (core developer) to look into this and by using the Group extension API to control this.. Long story short he came to the conclusion that it was nearly impossible to integrate this with the Group API without hacking up the core. Currently I have different Group Types working, but they all need to have the same plugins and thus creation procedure.
In reply to: BP Xtra Signup Version 1.4very useful plugin! Thanks
In reply to: creating a new page with a chat scriptyou should put the script call in a new page template and use that template for the page you would like to use the script on:
Hi Tung,
To add a signup button to your site you can add the following code to your index.php file:
`<input type="button" id="sign_up" value="Create an Account!"
onClick=”window.location=’/register'”>`The rest of your “problems” are not really problems because your register page works fine! It does not give me a 404 and I can sign up for your site.
You can add the same code above to your sidebar.php theme to add the signup button there
I think the code is much easier then what you came up with.. I’m currently not at my mac, but I’ll check it out in an hour or so, I should have the code somewhere

Thanks @rogercoathup for letting me know how to do this.. In the meantime I’ve taken another approach and added a featured posts slider (showing the post_thumbnail) and a excerpt above my activity stream. It’s a good solution for me, altough yours will come in handy for another project I’m working on
thx!@rogercoathup and @mercime : thanks guys.. I know now the correct ways of targeting divs inside divs.. learned something new instead of just trying random things.. cheers
In reply to: the_post_thumbnail & the activity streamI would like to to use this as well.. Since the post thumbnail is used more and more, it would be cool to include it in the activity stream entries.
In reply to: Introducing JobBoardr@Travel-Junkie: great job man! I know you’ve been working on this for a LONG time, so I’m glad you’re able to release it

Sure.. check out this plugin from @nuprn1:
https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-block-activity-stream-types/
Simply add the “joined_group” action to the Block Activity Types textbox in the plugin settings!
In reply to: Can somebody test this share button in IE?Yep.. most of the time it’s the small things that make a big difference usability wise.. these “simple” things are the things that make or break a community. I can’t tell you how long I’ve spent tweaking my stream, directory and navigation menus to make it easier to use.
I think I’m going to leave this plugin out of the activity stream, but implement it on the group/event/member pages and the forum topics! Looking forward to the release!
In reply to: Can somebody test this share button in IE?Good work dude.. doing some awesome stuff lately
In reply to: Group Documents: Any hack to work with BP 1.2.5.2?It should be working fine! I’m using it on WP 3.0.1 and latest BuddyPress without any problems (so far).
In reply to: GivingSports.comThis is really cool Techguy!! I’m also working on a non-profit community and looking for ways to help other Initiatives raise money.. A question out of curiousity; How do you log the payments and handle the payouts to the cause? Are all the donations tracked and collected in one merchant account and later transferred to the cause later? Interesting stuff!
For your first problem there is no plugin available.. If you want to display activity/group/forum stream on a different blog then your main blog, you might need to make custom templates for that blog.. You also might need to have some custom code written, but I’m not sure, maybe an expert could help on that point..
What do you mean exactly with managing memberships? If you want to charge your members and offer different member types, S2Member is a great solution to look into. http://www.s2member.com.
In reply to: BP Member FilterI would love to use this plugin as well @johnjamesjacoby..
