In reply to: Members Page
That’s just how Buddypress works.
There’s conditions as to what is viewable whether or not if you’re logged in, or if its the user’s profile or not, due to security and privacy.
You’d most likely have to dig into
bp_nouveau_get_nav_link()and see how you can filter it (if you’re on the Nouveau BP templates)In reply to: Remove @MentionsDo a quick search on the forum and you’ll find many other topics on this. Here’s an example
In reply to: How to translete BP time and date formatPerhaps you’ll find your answer here
https://buddypress.org/support/topic/change-time-since-format/
In reply to: How to edit Group pagesYou can either find where the sidebar is being called in your theme, override the buddypress group templates to not have the sidebar or just hide it through plain css.
.buddypress.sd .sd-sidebar { display:none } .buddypress.sd .entry-content.sidebar-active { width: 100%; }In reply to: Show or Hide Field Based on Match in Another FieldShould be pretty easy with something like this. This would only work if they’re logged in and have chosen to fill out the field on whether or not their a man or a woman though.
<?php global $bp; $user_id = bp_displayed_user_id(); $details = xprofile_get_field_data( 'profile field name', $user_id, $multi_format = 'array' ); if ( ! empty ( $details) ) { // if the field isn't empty, show this code } else { //code } ?>In reply to: How to change confirmation message on registering?Here’s some info on how to change it
In reply to: Facebook Login Different PasswordIt would be a massive security breach if Facebook decided to transfer their users passwords over to a regular wordpress site.
This isn’t really a Buddypress issue, but more of how Nextgen Social Login isn’t integrating your users properly.
Until you resolve the matter with them or get a new social network plugin properly integrated with buddypress, your users need to continue logging in through facebook or they’ll have to make a new password for the account they’ve made on your site.
In reply to: add buddypress pages to wp menu issueDid you try basic bug checking like changing your theme or shutting off plugins one by one to see what’s interfering? Go through it one by one and see if anything changes as you do it.
In reply to: FRONT END PROFILE DisplayBuddypress works with a templating hierarchy, just like wordpress and thousands of other plugins. This means you can override the current Buddypress templates with your own by uploading them to your own theme.
You can find a bit more details on it here https://codex.buddypress.org/themes/theme-compatibility-1-7/template-hierarchy
Otherwise there should be plenty of tutorials online on how to do this.
In reply to: Solved – Lost Registration linkDid you allow your wordpress site to register members? Did you assign the register page to be the registering page through Buddypress?
In reply to: restrict certain tabs in the profile pageYou should be able to find some info on it here
In reply to: customize the profile menuIf you just want to hide them then use some CSS, i.e. for the activity link in the members section use this.
#activity-personal-li { display:none; }Find the other class or id names of the elements by inspecting the elements (right click on your screen and click inspect element on Chrome).
In reply to: Sidebar not showing up on BP members directoryYou could override the template and insert your theme’s sidebar. Depending on which Buddypress template you’re using, you’ll find it in
plugins > buddypress > bp-templates > the theme you're using > buddypress > members > index.phpOnce you’ve grabbed it and inserted the sidebar there should be plenty of tutorials on the net on how to upload it to your own server, e.g. https://wproot.dev/blog/override-buddypress-template-files/
In reply to: The web load is very heavy and longThis isn’t a Buddypress related problem but an issue with your current theme / server.
A quick look through your site shows you’re using a bloated page builder, use redundant styles and scripts not enqueued properly for specific pages, dont minify your js / styles and many other things.
You’d need to clean that up and take it from there.
In reply to: Sidebar not showing up on BP members directoryhttps://starkehand.org/datenschutz/ never calls your theme’s sidebar. You need to put that in yourself or ask the developers of the Neve theme to do it for you.
You’d have to code it yourself or find a developer who can combine the two. Otherwise, here’s a start
In reply to: BuddyPress Activity Stream Not Showing StatusPerhaps your text is truncated early because of the many image urls taking up the space? Otherwise it sounds like a plugin / custom code interfering.
To my knowledge Buddypress does not have image attachment in the activities, it’s usually something you’d get from a third party plugin.
If you meant the sitewide activity page then you could apply some minor css like this.
#buddypress #activity-all, #buddypress #activity-mentions { display:none!important }In reply to: Free Buddypress User Chat?I haven’t tried it myself but iFlyChat could be an alternative, you’d need a free iFlyChat api key by signing up on their website though.
In reply to: Solved – Font Awesome IssuesThe slash needs to be the other way around, like so:
a#user-front::before {content: "\f015"; }In reply to: hidden groups on the main menuI’m unsure if I’m understanding your question correct, but otherwise you could play around with the group types to gather all the hidden groups in one place.
It would be go something like this
Insert this into your bp-custom.php
function bp_custom_group_types() { bp_groups_register_group_type('hidden', array( 'labels' => array( 'name' => 'Hidden', 'singular_name' => 'Hidden' ) , 'has_directory' => 'hidden', 'show_in_create_screen' => true, 'show_in_list' => true, 'description' => 'Add the group to the hidden list', 'create_screen_checked' => true )); } add_action('bp_groups_register_group_types', 'bp_custom_group_types');Marking the hidden groups “hidden” inside manage < settings under group types.
Followed by entering the “hidden” directory found at https://yourwebsite.com/groups/type/hidden/
Only admins or the members of these groups would be able to see them though.
In reply to: Hide Username in autocomplete „send to“Not sure if this is the same in legacy, but in BP nouveau you can hide it with plain css like so
.atwho-container #atwho-ground-send-to-input .atwho-view ul li small{ display:none }In reply to: Issues with uploading avatars and imagesDid you try deactivating all your plugins other than Buddypress and using a standard theme?
If you’re using the same server where uploads were possible before its most likely a plugin / custom code bugging it.
Otherwise, sometimes GD-library can be installed by not activated on the server.
In reply to: Solved – Search not workingMaybe this plugin could help you
In reply to: Solved – Editing Group Activity PostsInstall https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-edit-activity/ and you and your users will be able to.
