Sorry. I closed the window on accident. Glad to help you out. This was the plugin which was causing problems: Transposh Translation Filter http://transposh.org/

Ok, it was a plugin that was causing the problem. That’s the problem with having 30 plugins on a BP install. Now Scott just has to go through activating each one to find out which one is causing the problem. Should be interesting to see which one, because it wasn’t one of the sign up […]

@r-a-y I had him do the same. Still not working. I’m going to log in and see what else he has running that might be causing the problem. Seems like it happened since he upgraded to WP 3.0 and the latest BP. I think it must be a plugin of some sort that’s conflicting since it’s […]

Compare the register.php in your theme with the register.php with the one in the default theme and see what’s different.
If my son goes to bed nicely, I may add you on Yahoo before SYTYCD starts. Mostly cause I appreciate dance.

techguy posted on the forum topic Lost Activation Email in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 15 years, 5 months ago
Take an activation URL in the activation email (send yourself a fake one if you don’t have one lieing around). Then, go into something like phpmyadmin. Look at the table for users (it’s different if you’re using WP vs. WPMU) and find the activation key. Replace the key in the URL and now you can […]

techguy posted on the forum topic How can I fix the BuddyPress Default theme to work with the 3.0 upgrade? in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 15 years, 5 months ago
No date yet. Lots of tickets left. See: https://trac.buddypress.org/roadmap I’d expect at least a few months if I was guessing, but you never know unless you get in and start fixing tickets to make it go faster.

techguy posted on the forum topic API Documentation? in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 15 years, 5 months ago
Nope. Although, it’s often good to consult the WordPress codex as well since all of those functions can be used also. I’ve also learned to love this piece of code to output what’s being stored in various vars (just replace $bp with the var you want to see): echo ” “; var_dump($bp); echo ” “; […]

Is there any chance that we’re going to see Group Albums slip into the next release of this plugin? Or is there possibly a workaround where it can be made a group album based on a tag or something that would be simple to implement?

@caplain
Is it still a problem for you. I was just able to connect no problem. When this happened to me before it was just the main page, but sub pages would open. Try this page: https://codex.buddypress.org/home/ or https://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/creating-a-custom-buddypress-component/ and then use the breadcrumb navigation. At…[Read more] -

Glad it helped @tim-watt. I’m not sure which visual editor you mean. I assume you mean on pages or posts to the main blog? The only thing I’ve noticed is that it doesn’t recognize lists stuff when I do that. I imagine that just needs to be styled in the CSS, but I haven’t had […]

I didn’t see an option to add a blog to the network that already exits. Or do you just want to be a platform for new bloggers?

techguy posted on the forum topic Fishbook Help in the group Third Party Components & Plugins: 15 years, 5 months ago
Correct. It does do almost all of the work with a modified CSS. Except the header.gif and a few other minor changes. Plus, by pulling down the header.php file and putting it into the Fishbook folder, then you’re overriding that file too so that you can customize it for your needs. You could just change […]

You could embed polly daddy polls in various parts of BuddyPress though I think. The plugin’s not integrated though.

techguy posted on the forum topic Fishbook Help in the group Third Party Components & Plugins: 15 years, 5 months ago
You’ll have to modify the header.gif file for the logo.
For the menu items, you’ll have to pull the header.php from the parent BP theme (buddypressbp-themesbp-defaultheader.php) and add it to the Fishbook theme folder. Then, you can modify it however you want.

You actually can give each person their own blog. You just have to use what was previously called WordPress MU (now called Multisite and comes with WordPress 3.0). There’s some extra configuration, but it’s definitely possible. There’s definitely more configuration with BuddyPress and WordPress MU than Ning, but there’s also more ability to…[Read more]

@boonebgorges BBPress has a build in feature that will lock threads after a certain period. I’m not sure how it’s exactly integrated with BP, but you might just turn on the BBPress option.

techguy posted on the forum topic Want to rename BuddyPress and BP Album+ Tab Menu from Media in the group Creating & Extending: 15 years, 5 months ago
I think BP Album+ has a language file. Can’t you just change the language file and it will change it everywhere? I should also note that in future versions there planning to add videos and other media. So, that’s probably why they used media instead of photos or something.
