For the menu items, you’ll have to pull the header.php from the parent BP theme (buddypressbp-themesbp-defaultheader.php) and add it to the Fishbook theme folder. Then, you can modify it however you want.

@boonebgorges BBPress has a build in feature that will lock threads after a certain period. I’m not sure how it’s exactly integrated with BP, but you might just turn on the BBPress option.

I think BP Album+ has a language file. Can’t you just change the language file and it will change it everywhere? I should also note that in future versions there planning to add videos and other media. So, that’s probably why they used media instead of photos or something.
