Hmm so how would have say a global forum like this (stand-alone) and then also the forums directory with the latest posts from your group forums. Also how do you access bb-admin for the built-in forums by buddypress?

Turns out another plugin was breaking it!

@John James Jacoby – I’m using the BuddyPress 1.1 theme.

@Jeff Sayre – In the permalinks options though the input field has a prefix (un-editable) saying /blog. What is supposed to happen is WPMU adds /blog to the url automatically for your main blog. But it’s not doing. I’m guessing the new 1.1 theme of BuddyPress is perhaps breaking this? OR the BuddyPress plugin itself.

If BP classes them as part of groups, what group is this a part of then? https://buddypress.org/forums/ seems pretty stand-alone to me :/

What if I have disabled groups? And I just want forums at domain.com/forums/ why would I need any groups for a simple set of forums? :/

Also adding to this, how would one access the forum or the directory anyways?

For instance, domain.com/forums shows the directory, so where would the forums be? by forums I mean like buddypress.org/forums/

Why would my new function be in bp-custom.php and not functions.php?

Bummer would really love to know how that archive is created.

Any ideas on how the relative feeds could be created though, I am using a custom Theme anyways, but I have no idea how to go about creating the feed though.

The code feels a little hacky, but it does work so thanks.

How do I add the archives then? And also fix the feed URL to be relative to the blog instead of the whole site? Thanks again.

Well the development version is here http://paperviewzine.com/blog/ but the problem I am having is that WordPress is treating both the home page and the blog as HOME so when I use is_home() it is conditioning both.

How do I create the archives, and how I create the proper titles for the sections so for example: MY SITE — BLOG — TITLE or MY SITE — BLOG — ARCHIVES

I don’t want to use built-in functions, rather I want to code the titles myself.

Also how do I get the feeds to link to the blog? having the url as /feed/ to the root site is misleading when it is the blog feed and NOT a site-wide feed.
