I solved this issue – for some reason the Facebook Like plugin I was using was breaking the JS everywhere on the site. Once I disabled it I was good to go. Not sure why that happened after the upgrade….

Was this ever solved? I am trying to accomplish the same thing – make some profile fields private. Thanks!

In case anybody looks at this – I turned off PHP safe mode on the server – noth through htaccess, and it seems to have done the trick.

And I’ve been getting similar errors to this all day:

[Mon Mar 01 14:51:59 2010] [error] [client 24.82.144.113] Request exceeded the limit of 10 internal redirects due to probable configuration error. Use ‘LimitInternalRecursion’ to increase the limit if necessary. Use ‘LogLevel debug’ to get a backtrace., referer: http://switchsoftware.ca/wp-content/themes/bp-widget/style.css

“Did you try creating a blog before adding BP? vhost means what kind fo blogs did you set up, subdomains or subfolders? “

Yes I sure did. They worked beautifully, same story once I remove BP.

    Regarding this:

    https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/1947

I’m not sure my problem is exactly the same – I can create blogs by outside users that work fine. Only when I create them from the WPMU backend does the problem arise.

It’s all here by the way:

    Thanks Guys!

Was this issue resolved at all? I am experiencing the same phenomenon:

MU works fine before BP is installed.

Once BP is installed, I can create blogs from the MU backend, but I get the message:

“The blog you have requested is not installed properly. Please contact the system administrator.”

…when I try to visit them. I’m sure BP is the source of the issue because WPMU works fine before the BP install.

    Thanks!
