@earl_d I just tested with WordPress 6.3 & BuddyPress 11.3.1, no other plugins or custom code, having Twenty Nineteen theme active and using a regular WP config (as opposed to multisite) : everything behaves as expected.

According to the changes we included into this release I’d be very surprised it has such a side effect. If there’s an issue with the registration page, it’s probably something we haven’t figured out yet. I’ll look at it asap.

@Earl_D: No. The above snippets are added to a custom version of the buddypress/members/single/messages/compose.php file. Basically, if you add this file to your theme (following the structure buddypress/members/single/messages/), it will be used in preference to the one BuddyPress ships with.
