    Thank you so much. I was not clear on how it would display, but your example helped me out. I was using Gravity Forms User Registration add-on and those existing entries were not populating or connecting to the fields I had created through the profile group fields. This actually works much better for this particular site.

    Do you know how to rearrange the order of those groups? My profile groups are not in the same order as they are in the admin area.

    Thank you for responding.

    I answered the version of Buddypress when you directed me to respond to all of the questions after my initial inquiry.

    I did troubleshoot in Twenty Twelve as well as the BP Default theme and still am experiencing the same issues.
    The reason I did not consider this to be an issue with the plugins and perhaps a question of character max level, is because I have created several test profiles and am not experiencing this problem. These profiles were created in the same exact way as the true NEW user profiles. That is what I meant by “test profiles.” So…I will ask again…

    Is it possible that there is a limit on the number of characters available in a profile? Or, is there some sort of pagination option? I would provide the URL but it is an intranet site for and I do not want to include it here. Could I possibly send you a personal message?

    Thank you in advance for your help.

    I figured it out!  I just wasn’t logged into Firefox or Chrome.  Thanks so much for your help.

    Thank you. That worked.  But these buttons still aren’t showing up in Firefox or Chrome.  Any other ideas?

    I don’t believe that is the header, is it?

    Thanks.  That appears to have helped with the line breaks but the color switched back to black.  Is there any way to get the color to change from here?

    Great!  That worked perfectly.  I did the first option.  However, it moved the field to the next line.

    Is there a way to keep this from happening?  There is tons of space and it doesn’t need to be moved.

    This is how I set up the code:

    <p><strong>Type of Cancer: </strong><p style=”color: #736B6E;”><?php bp_member_profile_data( ‘field=Cancer Type’ ); ?></p>

    @ebraxton30

    That worked!  Thanks so much.  Are text colors able to be affected here or no?  I’m thinking that it is still a little hard to distinguish so I’m wondering if I can make the field a gray.

    I really appreciate your help and quick response.

    I retyped it and it’s working.  I don’t know what was happening.  It went sort of wonky for a moment!

    Thanks so much for your help!

    One more question.  Is there a way to make the Type of Cancer portion bold so it stands out?

    I copy pasted this code and it blanked out my page.  Could I be doing something wrong?

    Benzine,

    I am searching another issue and see your issue and thought I may provide a solution because I ran into the same issue.  I couldn’t see any way to change or alter user profiles after entered.  I couldn’t see the fields which you think would be an easy thing, but highly annoying to learn that I couldn’t.  A solution…

    I am using the Gravity Forms plugin.  The problem is, the plugin is $50, but the only way to get their user registration add-on is to purchase the developer edition which is $200.  It works with Buddypress and User Registration very nicely.  You can go through your Gravity Form entries and make all of the edits to user profiles that you need.  I wish I knew of a less expensive solution, but Gravity Forms is a nice plugin and I’m sure you will find other uses for it on your site!

    @ebraxton30

    I finally figured this out.  I am using Gravity Forms user registration plugin to work with my Buddypress theme.  My field names varied slightly between the custom profile field name and what I put on the user registration form.  I realized that I must use field name as it is entered in the WordPress Custom Profile Field.

    I do have one question…I would like to display the field name as well as what was entered in that field.  For example, this site is a cancer site and users will enter their type of cancer.  I would like it to read “Type of Cancer: Breast” rather than “Breast”

    Any suggestions?

    I’m confused.  The earlier code is supposed to be used outside the member loop and this most recent code is supposed to be used in the member loop?

    I’ve inserted the most recent code and replaced the single quotes.  Nothing is showing up.  I just can’t seem to figure out why?  Here is my latest code in the member-loop.php

    I’m still not getting something right.  Here is how it is showing up…

    What do you mean by “outside the members loop?”  I’m adding this code to
    members/members-loop.php

    Here is how I added it. I’m sorry if this seems like a stupid question…I just really need to get this working and usually can figure this stuff out..

    Yea…I got that.  Did that.  I’m trying to use the code above to make them show up on the members page and the single members page and it’s not working.

    When I try to add the code in, it’s not showing up and I think it’s because I’m not inserting it exactly right.  I see the location that it is supposed to be, but I’m not sure I’m keying in the correct characters.  Can someone help me with the exact location and characters?  Is this the right code?

    <?php bp_member_profile_data( ‘field=cancer type’ ); ?>

    Or do I just need to insert the code without <?php..?>

    @ebraxton30

    I finally realized that the Buddypress User Account Types PRO was breaking it!  I hope the plugin developer fixes this or I’m going to be getting a refund and finding a custom solution for the same thing.
