@r-a-y TODAY YOU’RE MY HERO!!!
I’ M SORRY… SUPER-HERO!!!
I thanks you sooo much for this.
As basic as it was, I didn’t even think about enableing the component and the group froum (I did both).
IT WORKS NOW!
Ouuf…! That really was killing me.
Now it’s just a matter of styling the whole thing, but that is never a problem!
Just tell me what you need… Anything…
In reply to: BuddyPress-Links 0.4.x Releases and SupportHi MrMraz, I installed the old plugin since a few weeks and I haven’t had the occation to see how it works, simply because it is not obvious straight away that this is more of a BP component, such as Groups and Forums.
I scratched my head off trying understand HOW to create a link (and I am not the only one https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/is-there-a-buddypress-plugin-that-can). To me it wasn’t clear that you need to manually create a link to the Links directory or something like that, wich mean you need a place in your navigation to put “Links”, along with Members, Forums, Groups (wplace that I don’t have on my site).
Anyway, I got two basic problems (with 0.3.2). I already got a page on my site called “links”. I’ve changed the buddypress-links.php file, line 24:
from
define( ‘BP_LINKS_SLUG’, ‘links’ );
to
define( ‘BP_LINKS_SLUG’, ‘members-links’ );
which I find more appropriate for my site. But I noticed the warning message:At this time, it is not recommended that you try to override this!
So, what am I to do?
Another problem is that when I try to create a link i got the error:
Warning: require_once(single/forms/details.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in …(mypath)/wp-content/themes/(mytheme)/bp-links-default/create.php on line 22
I’ve checked the file and that line was not coded properly:
require_once ‘single/forms/details.php’;
instead of: require_once (‘single/forms/details.php’);
Did it work for everybody else, that way?
Otherwise, I am going to test 0.4, since I see that there is a feature to “Create link directly from user profile and group pages”.
I’ll let you know.

Thanks jivany! I see. Anyway, I’ve installed BP from the plugins panel in WP admin. So it is a released version.
I am amazed that nobody else got this problem. If it’s in the release version, how can I be the only one having or complaining about this?

@21cdb Looks like your link explain my problem. Just… what is BP Trank. In your lijk they talk about “running a trunk”.

In reply to: BuddyPress-Links 0.3 FINAL is here at lastHi, MrMaz!
I can’t get the plugin to work. I mean, the stuff is there, but on my profile I don’t see the options to create links.
First, I seem to have a big problem since I already had a page called “links”, so that page gets screwed up by the plugin.
Also, I did put a folder called “bp-links-default” and created the following files to customize the HTML structure of those pages, to fit my layout:
– index.php
-create.php
– single/home.php
I got an error on the create page, line 22: require_once ‘single/forms/details.php’;
I accessed that page by typing the URL/links/create.
But as I told you I don’t have any button on the profile to access this page.
Can you help me out?
Here’s my setup:
WP 2.9.2 (single)
BP 1.2.3
BP Template Pack installed
WP is installed in a subfolder, with index.php in the root.

In reply to: Forums problem: can’t create them!By the way, what I get when trying to create a new topic is this:
There was an error when creating the topic
Not very helpful, but this is it.
Anyone?
In reply to: Buddypress gifts componentLooking forward for the gift plugin!
Thanks, warut!
In reply to: Strange behavior in forum post freshnessBTW, I was taking a look at my DB via phpmyadmin and after I checked the tables, I got the following message in my wp_users table:
“The following indexes appear to be equal and one of them should be removed: user_login, user_login_key
I got exactly the same thing. What is that?
I’ve tried to activate the default theme. Same thing,” bp_is_front_page()” is not recognized.
Tried also to deactivate all plugins (except BP). Nothing.
What the hell! Will I ever have an highlighted menu for home when on the homepage?
Well, the only one I didn’t test was bp_is_page( ‘home’ ).
And it doesn’t work neither.
It’s not logical.
@mercime I”l try that… Will let you know.
@jivany Nope, “bp_is_activity_front_page” doesn’t work neither.
I am on WP single with WP Tempale Pack.
I got the Front page set to Activity stream.
I tried:
1) bp_is_front_page
2) is_front_page
3) bp_is_page(BP_ACTIVITY_SLUG)
4) bp_is_activity_front_page
Neither of those work on the homepage.
I can’t get anything printed out of a conditional statement with the above, meaning I can’t have a “Home” menu highlighted.
Anybody who got this problem?
Is there anyone that have the slighest idea why this doesn’t work?
By this, I mean “bp_is_front_page()” not being recognized.
@jivany Are you suggesting I’d create a tempalte file called Activity and set the front page to that.
If so, should I copy all the stuff from “activity/index.php” into that template file?
That could be a solution, but more of a workaround than a fix, right?
@jivany Usually is_home() is for the blog index page.
And I got that on the menu, and is working fine with the blog index page.
I can’t believe something so basic doen’t work.
I am really scratching my head off on this.
Go to Settings -> Miscellaneous Settings
.
Set “Store uploads in this folder” to “wp-content/uploads”.

Set “Full URL path to files” to the REAL FULL PATH of your uploads.

Then change “bp-core-avatars.php” line 389:
Replace:

if ( !$path = get_option( 'upload_path' ) )

$path = WP_CONTENT_DIR . '/uploads';
With:
if ( !$path = get_option( ‘upload_path’ ) )

$path = WP_CONTENT_DIR . '/uploads';

else
$path = ABSPATH . $path;It fixes the problem.

This is really something that need be fixed with the next release.
Thanks for the reply, mercime!
Nope, that doesn’t do it. The class “active” is not printed.
This is really weird, isn’t it?
So, nobody willing to spend a couple of minutes on this, at least to tell me if the code SHOULD do its job?
Logically it should. But it doesn’t.
It kills me when something SO basic doesn’t work!
