Henry Wright replied to the topic Customizing emails template in the forum Creating & Extending 11 years, 1 month ago
Hi @shmk
It’s definitely possible. BuddyPress uses the
wp_mail()function to send emails. By default, it usestext/plainas the content type which doesn’t allow HTML. The good news is you can change this. For example:function set_content_type( $content_type ) {[Read more]
return 'text/html';
}
add_filter( 'wp_mail_content_type', 'set_content_type'… -

Hi @shmk
That would be

Henry Wright replied to the topic Reliable hosting for BuddyPress installations? in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 11 years, 1 month ago
Hi @sbraiden
The response time on ANY page/link can range from 10-20 seconds, even with virtually all of the plug-ins disabled.
A standard WordPress-BuddyPress install, running on the most basic hardware with little web traffic would respond far quicker than this so there is definitely a problem. Sometimes (although not always) the problem can…[Read more]

Henry Wright replied to the topic Missing argument for bp_modify_page_title() – Elegant themes and Buddypress in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 11 years, 1 month ago
Hi @laynerogers
Rather than changing BP core files, you should contact the theme author asking that they look into making their page titles compatible with BP. The changes you’ve made to bp-core-filters.php will be lost each time you update BuddyPress.

Henry Wright replied to the topic Hook for when a user first logs in in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 11 years, 1 month ago
Hi @ndh01
I’m not aware of a hook that fires on first login only. A way around that might be to add a meta key to the user’s meta on registration and then check for that on each login attempt. You’d need to remove the key after you’ve performed the check (if the key exists). If no key exists, then the user has logged in before. Just thinking out…[Read more]

Hi @jgob
These questions are not related to BP specifically, rather, they apply to WordPress generally. Whilst the guys here may be able to help, you may have more joy asking over at wordpress.org

Henry Wright replied to the topic How to add ads in activity streem in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 11 years, 1 month ago
The activity directory template is /buddypress/activity/index-directory.php so you will need to make sure you have that created in your theme. The Template Hierarchy article will explain everything in more detail so be sure to check that out. Then you could use the code I provided in the thread you mentioned to insert adverts in the stream.

Have you tried asking your question on the plugin’s support forum? Considering it’s specific to the plugin, you may have more luck there

Henry Wright replied to the topic Private Messaging as non-registered user in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 11 years, 1 month ago
As far as I know, unregistered users have an ID of 0. An ID is necessary to send the message so unregistered users will all be seen as the same person by BuddyPress. So to answer your question, I don’t think it’s possible
