In reply to: [RESOLVED} Registration (key) doesn’t workah ha!!! Let me change that and check it out……
In reply to: [RESOLVED} Registration (key) doesn’t workYes sir……I sure did…….this is what my custom.php looks like:
define( ‘BP_FORUMS_SLUG’, ‘discuss’ );
define( ‘BP_FRIENDS_SLUG’, ‘professional contacts’ );
define( ‘BP_ACTIVITY_SLUG’, ‘activity’ );
define( ‘BP_PROFILE_SLUG’, ‘profile’ );
define( ‘BP_MESSAGES_SLUG’, ‘messages’ );
define( ‘BP_GROUPS_SLUG’, ‘groups’ );
define( ‘BP_ALBUMS_SLUG’, ‘albums’ );
define( ‘BP_SETTINGS_SLUG’, ‘settings’ );
define( ‘BP_LOG_OUT_SLUG’, ‘log_out’ );Of course with the open/closing tags……..what did I do wrong?
In reply to: [RESOLVED} Registration (key) doesn’t workAces…….my main man!!!! mod_rewrite is enabled in .htaccess…..that’s all set, BUT……I used poedit to change the language (“friends” to “professional Contacts”) and now all of my buddybar menus are “hiresphere.net/professional-contacts/hiresphereadmin/activity……”friends,” “messages,” ect…..in addition to this whole mess with my registration page not working (re-routing). rrrr…..It’s like I fix one problem to develop another. Soooo…..now I’m trying to fix both permalink issues. lol……good Lord……
In reply to: [RESOLVED} Registration (key) doesn’t workhow do you change permalinks directly from your database?
In reply to: [RESOLVED} Registration (key) doesn’t worksaved permalinks? On the backend of wordpress? or my database? I’ve found that I have to work a lot directly with my database to make things work, but I don’t know which file permalinks is in……hmmm……let me check……
In reply to: [RESOLVED} Registration (key) doesn’t workI’m using bp-corporate 1.4.1 (the brand new one), but the same thing was happening on bp-corporate 1.4. I tried installing the “welcome pack” plugin, but that didn’t fix it. Everything had been updated and all are working well except this…….
Ok, so I did what you said only it turns out that the issue was already known and the suggestion was to download the new version to my computer and upload to server from there……..so I did……..it worked!!!!! Some things changed, but site is intact!!! Sooooooo happy!
Thanks!!!!!
Ok, I’ll contact them…..thank you!!!!!!!!
I tried to “Google” this…..no luck, nothing comes up. Anyone ever here of this?
In reply to: {RESOLVED} Registration page not working (either)Ok….I’ll try that, but I have a lot of details and customization…..this won’t mess anything up will it?
BTW….thank you for helping me!!!! You and Aces have been great and have already solved 2 different issues for me….I’m hoping this is the last one!
Thank you!!! You and Aces are the bomb!!!!
In reply to: {RESOLVED} Registration page not working (either)No. 2 totally separate issues…..I fixed the “no page found” errors I was receiving, which was a completely different problem than what this is. This problem centers around actually registering for my site. I have a registration page…..comes up, no problem……you fill out the registration form…..no problem……BUT…..a confirm email isn’t always sent and when it is sent, you get an email asking you to finish the registration process by clicking on the link (provided to you in the email)…..click on the link……takes you to my home page with no way to “finish the registration process” (i.e., no where to put the “key” in and if you just go ahead and try to login, you get an error message “your account is not activated.”
In reply to: {RESOLVED}Page(s) not foundFixed!!!! I had to add pages to the buddypress components in order for them to show up!!!!
In reply to: {RESOLVED}Page(s) not foundI just watched a video on youtube about this very issue and the instructor suggested putting this snippet of code in your .htacces file:
`LoadModule rewrite_module
modules/mod_rewrite.so`I did that……500 internal server error……had to take it out to get site back…….
In reply to: {RESOLVED}Page(s) not foundMy .htaccess file contains:
`
RewriteEngine On`This should allow for pretty perms……I’m not sure why I’m getting the “no page found” errors
In reply to: {RESOLVED}Page(s) not foundHi,
First, thank you for answering……I’m using Buddypress Corporate Theme. Using Linux Server (GoDaddy)………what do I need to look for in my .htaccess file?
hmmmm…..I’m wondering if you’re referring to the “buddybar” or “dashboard.” If you have Buddypress installed, you can go to your dashboard and scroll down till you see “buddypress” and adjust certain settings here….or you can go into “appearance” and change certain items here. I’m sorry, I want to help, I’m just not sure I’m understanding your question correctly.
I installed Buddypress a while ago and don’t remember a “link,” so I’m not sure about the “wizard” you’re talking about. But you can try downloading the latest version of buddypress from this site and uploading it to your server……just clear your server out of the old one first, then do a fresh, clean install from your downloaded file. Run a virus scan on the file (after download), then you can be sure you’re getting a clean download.
In reply to: {RESOLVED} Change the word ”friends”Thank you thank you thank you!!!! PoEdit worked like a charm!!!
In reply to: {RESOLVED} Change the word ”friends”I’m not sure i understand. I checked the links, but i’m not sure which folder/file to ammend
In reply to: Confirmation e-mail for buddypress isn’t workingUm…..I don’t understand….the “plugin email?” What “plugin email?”
In reply to: Notification emails not sendingI am more or less in the same boat, only my emails are getting sent, but no way for users to activate their keys……weird
In reply to: Confirmation e-mail for buddypress isn’t workingHey there,
I thought I was the only one having this problem! I tried a test registration and I get the confirmation email with the key, but when I click on it, it just takes me back to my home page without anywere to input the key or any way to finish the registration process. I tried just logging in, but it comes up with an error message “you have not activated your account.” Weird!
Any help????
