I changed the name to style.css, and put it in it’s own folder “my-theme”……..still white……..what’s a “backtick?”
grrrr……….nope……I made custom-style.css with the following code and uploaded it to wp-content/themes and it didn’t work……still white…….I don’t know, but I think I’m getting ready to go the “funny farm”…….lol
#container {
background-color:#778899;
}#footer-widgets {
background-color:#778899;
}ok…..I’m going to do that right now……
I tried to make my own child theme months ago and (a) found it too complicated, and (b) didn’t work….in other words; I screwed it all up. I actually have a folder on my desktop labeled “attempted buddypress theme.” lol………I’m sure there are many people out there that can look at it and say to themselves “how can she screw it up”? But I did and it doesn’t work…..I would like to keep the top white, I am fine with that, but the footer color needs to be darker, definitely…..my footer widgets look silly with the white background. I’m trying to change it to #778899……light slate gray. Not too dark, not too light…..just right.
In reply to: {RESOLVED} Gave up, BUT….Awesome! I reverted to bp-default and it does the tick just fine!……Thank you!
In reply to: {RESOLVED} Gave up, BUT….ok, thank you!!! But I don’t know how to modify bp-default to look like redline…..I was trying to follow the instructions for the Buddypress theme pack added to a WordPress theme……where can I find the instructions for modifying bp-default?

Groups: <a href=http://hiresphere.net/user-groups/?s=” title=””>In reply to: WP adminbar / BP buddybar bug/issue?I’m trying to get my buddybar back, but the kick of it is, I customized my buddybar with poedit, so it’s not the default that comes with buddypress. I only want the buddybar (and some menu options) to be available to registered, loggedin users……more or less to keep out the “snoops”
In reply to: WP adminbar / BP buddybar bug/issue?No Aces…..you are not insane at all!!! You have become my hero, only I copied and pasted your code into custom php and still no buddybar……please put your cape on and save me once again……what am I doing wrong????
In reply to: Frustrated….Hi John,
Thanks for responding!!!! And thanks for validating my feelings…..makes me feel better to know these things are real and not just my imagination and that they are being addressed. I’m feeling like this because I am anxious to actually bring my site “live” for beta testing before I release it to the masses and every time I think I have it worked out and I’m ready to go live…..bang! Shot down like a toothless guy hitting on the hot blonde sitting at the end of the bar! LOL…….I’ll keep plugging away and I hope to release my site soon…….
Thanks again John!
In reply to: [RESOLVED} Registration (key) doesn’t worknope….i just logged out and could still get to all non-members pages……Lordy Lordy

In reply to: Blog Post Pages shows all Widgets here and there.Hey there…..I’m having the same problem after upgrading from bp-corporate 1.4 to bp-corporate 1.4.1…..were you able to find cause/solution?
In reply to: [RESOLVED} Registration (key) doesn’t workOk….I checked out the links. So I should use the custom code? I’ll try that, but it seems like every time I use custom code, my site goes to he (double hockey sticks). But I’ll try anything at this point! I’ll let you know how it goes…..thanks Aces!!!!
In reply to: [RESOLVED} Registration (key) doesn’t workOk…..I’ll check those out to make sure I don’t have any other problem plugins…….but it’s still not re-directing to the activate page, although the activate page (to enter activation key) now exists…..and still no confirm email…..I thought I had this wrapped up, I was wrong…….

Then it’s worse than I thought……when I log out, I click on the “join us here” button and it takes me to my registration page…..i can fill out then info and click “join hireshpere,” but that’s where it dies out for me……..you’re saying that you cannot even get to that stage??? In reply to: [RESOLVED} Registration (key) doesn’t workhmmm…..I have “private buddypress” plugin…….that is suppose to make much of my site invisible to non-registered users……that’s the only “privacy plugin” I have
