It’s possible but not easy, I think there are other map plugins that do address this requirement, I was perhaps going to try adding a map display for the members directory when I get a moment.

How do you mean seriously? they are not obliged to do anything really , they already provide hosting for the site and trac/svn they designate one of their team to work – I think exclusively – on .org sites, BuddyPress, and bbPress. They are not strictly obliged to do any of this remember 🙂

The three core devs are working as much as time allows them, and others are helping where possible to test and feedback, create patches where needed.

1.3 should be approaching a RC stage pretty soon hopefully, but the core devs will be able to give a better estimate of that time.
